This database features hundreds of titles covering Art, Architecture, Design, History, Philosophy, Music, Literature, Theatre and Cultural Studies. It is designed to complement the following indexes: ABM, Avery, BHA, BHI, DAAI, Index Islamicus, MLA, Philosopher's Index and RILM. From its launch in April 2008, the database will grow to include significant new titles in the visual and applied arts. When complete, it will contain at least 500 titles, all of them indexed in one or more of the Arts and Humanities databases. Includes Design Abstracts Retrospective (DAR), Design ProFILES (DP), and ReVIEW. DAR  is a new ongoing abstracting and indexing service that aims to cover many of the most important design and applied arts journals and annuals published during the twentieth century. Titles in the initial releases have been selected because of their outstanding international coverage and breadth of scope. DAR covers articles on all design, from architecture to embroidery. When complete it will cover over 70 titles. DP covers the same subject fields as DAR and is by far and away the largest and most comprehensive dictionary of design and designers ever compiled. It includes profiles of every single designer, architect, craftsperson, studio, workshop, etc. whose work is discussed or illustrated in the journals and yearbooks covered by DAR. ReVIEW is an indispensable new service that aims to digitize many of the most important decorative and fine arts journals published in Europe and the USA during the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, making them available for the first time in a searchable form online. It will be a significant contribution to art history scholarship and could open up new areas of research. Full-text.

EThOS - Electronic Theses Online Service (British Library) Full Text
EThOS is the UK's national thesis service run by the British Library. EThOS requires registering and creating a free account. It offers online access to PhD theses from many UK universities and other institutions. Many UK institutions offer open access to their theses, so download of their theses is free to the student or researcher. A small number of participating institutions do not offer open access and in this case there may be a fee. EThOS can only offer theses from participating institutions.
EThOS will digitise theses that so far only exist in hard copy, but there will be a delay while this is done for you. You will be informed when the thesis is ready for collection and you can then log on to the system and download it.
